The City of Cleveland, and Mayor Frank Jackson, also played a critical role in the reimagined Public Square. Mayor Jackson appointed the Board Chairman of The Group Plan Commission, which oversaw the entire project to generate funding, design, and ultimately built the new Public Square. The City of Cleveland regularly uses the space for public events and continues to provide support for The Square.
